Picture your whole team sitting round the same table with pencils in their hands and their phones face down for once, and everyone is so busy drawing that nobody is even thinking about their inbox. That's what I bring to your office, your community hall or your Zoom screen, and honestly, it's one of my favourite things to do.
Hi, I'm Bhupi, and my Spiritual Art Healing workshops are a calm and creative time where your group draws a mandala together, has a good laugh along the way and goes back to work feeling calmer, happier and a lot more like a team.
You don't need any art skills at all, and yes, that includes Dave from accounts who hasn't picked up a pencil since he was at middle school.
Mandala is a Sanskrit word meaning circle. A mandala is round with circles and patterns growing from the middle, a little like the ripples you see when you drop a pebble into a pond.
People all over the world have been drawing mandalas for thousands of years, because a circle stands for big and warm things like the universe, time, nature, ourselves and love. I learned this art, along with henna, in a tiny village in Rajasthan in India, and I've been teaching it for more than 15 years, so your group is in very safe hands.
Drawing a mandala together looks gentle, and it is, but it also does some very clever things for a group while everyone is busy having fun.
When the whole team is drawing side by side, the chat starts to flow and people who hardly ever talk at work suddenly find they've got loads to say to each other.
Everyone goes home with their own piece of beautiful art and a story about the day that they'll still be telling months and years later.
The drawing is slow and gentle, so a busy mind gets a proper rest, a little like pressing pause on a very noisy day.
Happy people do happy work, and there's nothing quite like the big smile on someone's face when they see what they've created.
Following each line helps the mind stay in one place, and that calm focus goes back to the desk with them the next morning.
A calm mind is an intuitive and creative mind, and lots of people find the answer to a tricky problem pops into their head while their hands are busy drawing.
I walk your group through drawing a mandala from start to finish, one easy step at a time, so nobody gets lost and nobody gets left behind. While we draw, I share the story of the mandala and where it comes from, and I teach some simple mindfulness tricks that your team can keep and use for years, on busy Mondays, before big meetings or whenever the day gets a little too much.
Along the way, everyone gets a quiet moment to notice how they're feeling or to think about something they'd like to work through, and it all happens in a safe and friendly space where people can open up as much or as little as they want. It's a calm skill they can come back to again and again, long after I've packed up my pencils and gone home.
When I come to you in person, I bring all the supplies, set everything up and tidy it all away afterwards, so all your team has to do is turn up and enjoy themselves.
Wellbeing days, away days, team building that actually builds something, or a big thank you to a team that's worked really hard.
Clubs, charities, faith groups, schools and neighbourhood groups who want a calm and happy time together.
A creative evening that helps you raise money for a good cause and gives everyone something special to take home.
A Christmas do, a leaving do or a birthday with a difference, and so much more fun than yet another trip to the pub.
Not at all, and I promise that by the end everyone will be amazed at what they've made, even the ones who swear they can only draw stick people.
Just get in touch with me first and I'll send you an invoice, and you can pay by cheque, credit card or bank transfer, whichever works best for your team.
In person it's at least 2 hours, and online it's usually 1.5 to 2 hours, but we can pick whatever length suits your group, so just tell me what you have in mind.
Every group is different, so just send me a message with how many people you have, whether you'd like me in person or on Zoom and a date that works for you, and I'll get back to you with all the information.
Pop me a message or give me a call and tell me a little about your team or group, and I'll get back to you personally, usually within a day or two, as long as Samosa hasn't stolen my keyboard again.
